About Calm Clear Divorce

A clearer, calmer way to navigate divorce – without feeling lost or alone

Calm Clear Divorce exists to help you move through separation and divorce in the UK with more clarity, less panic, and fewer expensive mistakes.

We don’t replace solicitors or the legal system. Instead, we give you:

  • Plain-English guides so you understand what’s happening and why
  • Practical checklists and templates so you know what to do next
  • Emotional support and structure so you can make better decisions, not reactionary ones

Our aim is simple: to help you feel more in control of the process and less overwhelmed by it.

What Calm Clear Divorce Is (and Is Not)

We are:

  • An information and guidance resource focused on UK separation and divorce
  • A place for structured, step‑by‑step help – from first shock through to post‑divorce stability
  • A bridge between “I’ve no idea where to start” and “I’m ready to speak to a solicitor / mediator / financial adviser”

We are not:

  • A law firm
  • A substitute for a qualified solicitor, barrister or mediator
  • A provider of legal, financial or mental health advice

We’ll continually remind you where you must seek professional advice and how to get the most value from it.

(You’ll find the full legal disclaimer on our [Disclaimer] page.)

Why Calm Clear Divorce Exists

Divorce in the UK can feel like:

  • A maze of forms, jargon and deadlines
  • A tug of war between emotions and practical decisions
  • A series of expensive conversations where you’re not even sure what to ask

Most people don’t need to become legal experts. They just need:

  • A clear map of the journey ahead
  • The right questions to ask at the right time
  • Simple tools to keep track of money, kids, property and communication

Calm Clear Divorce was created to fill exactly that gap: practical, human, UK‑specific guidance that sits between “Google rabbit holes” and “£250+ per hour” advice.

Who We Help

We primarily support people in the early and middle stages of separation and divorce in the UK, including:

  • Parents and homeowners trying to work out:

    • “What happens with the house?”
    • “How do we put the kids first without destroying each other?”
  • Professionals without children navigating:

    • Finances, timelines and the cleanest, least-destructive path out
  • Higher earners / complex situations who need:

    • A clear overview before engaging solicitors, financial planners or accountants

Whether you’re the one who initiated the separation or not, our resources are designed to be:

  • Non‑judgemental
  • Practical and realistic
  • Focused on your long‑term future, not just surviving this week

How Calm Clear Divorce Helps You

We organise everything around three pillars:

  1. Clarity

    • Plain-English explanations of UK processes (no-fault divorce, financial disclosure, mediation vs court, child arrangements)
    • Visual overviews and step-by-step checklists so you always know “what’s next”
  2. Control

    • Worksheets, templates and prompts to prepare for calls with solicitors, mediators and financial professionals
    • Guidance on communication, boundaries and documentation so you reduce avoidable conflict and cost
  3. Calm

    • Tools to manage the emotional “fog” so you can think more clearly
    • Referrals and signposts to professional support where needed (legal, financial, mental health, safety)

Who’s Behind Calm Clear Divorce

Calm Clear Divorce was founded by Stuart, a dad of two who has personally negotiated his own divorce.

Going through the process himself, Stuart saw first‑hand how quickly things can become:

  • confusing (different professionals saying different things),
  • expensive (paying hourly rates just to understand basic steps), and
  • emotionally draining (trying to protect his relationship with his children while everything else was changing).

He’s not a solicitor and doesn’t pretend to be. Instead, he built Calm Clear Divorce to offer what he wished he’d had at the time:

  • Plain-English explanations of what’s actually happening
  • Structured checklists and prompts to make better use of solicitor time
  • A calmer, more intentional way to approach negotiations and decisions as a parent

Stuart’s focus now is helping others avoid unnecessary confusion, conflict and cost – and to come through the process with their future, finances and children’s wellbeing better protected.

Our Relationship with Solicitors and Other Professionals

To help you get better, more efficient support, we may:

  • Provide questions and checklists to take to your solicitor or mediator
  • Refer you (with your explicit consent) to trusted legal and financial professionals
  • Work on an introducer / referral basis, where we may receive a fee if you choose to instruct a professional we’ve introduced

Whenever a referral is involved, we will:

  • Clearly disclose that a referral fee may be paid
  • Only refer to professionals we believe to be suitable for your needs
  • Encourage you to compare options and make your own decision
